Chris Wainwright has since the mid 1980's kept a series of small sketchbooks as a continuous informal diary or journal of his travels consisting of ephemera, notes, travel documents, receipts and other texts. This diverse and often idiosyncratic collection of information provides a chronology to his main body of photographic and video work. Crammed full of tickets and cards from many countries and in different languages, they contain a wide range of functional typographic and design gems and documentation that provide a rich visual and inform context for his work. |
